Description

The Arwen Brickheadz opts for simplicity, with a few subtle details such as her headpiece, and pale green dress that she wore to Aragorn’s coronation. That way you don't have all of the hobbits together, and you've kept to the groupings that are developed within the story, which I think is pretty typical to the Brickheadz strategy.

com has officially unveiled the LEGO Lord of the Rings Brickheadz, and we now have confirmed pricing and release dates! LEGO, the LEGO logo, the Minifigure, and the Brick and Knob configurations are trademarks of the LEGO Group of Companies. When I heard the news from Promobricks of the possible revival of The Lord Of The Rings LEGO Theme, I was like: “One does not simply revive LEGO LOTR” and I thrilled if this turns out to be true. The wings and large horns really help to give it a unique look as well as resulting in the most visually imposing BrickHeadz character ever. Although we don’t get a great look at the Balrog in the film, its appearance is fairly monstrous and it makes an amazing BrickHeadz build.

But the good news is that I made an extra BrickHeadz LOTR character to fill that void and I can assure you it will have free building instructions. First up, the packaging for the LEGO Lord of the Rings Brickheadz are incredible, and they feel fresh and familiar all at the same time.

Frodo comes as a full-size LEGO BrickHeadz figure wearing a brick-built cloak and holding the ring and a sword. I really hope we continue to see more Lord of the Rings Brickheadz – it would be silly, if LEGO did not commit to eventually releasing the entire Fellowship in Brickheadz form. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. She does have a printed tile on her forehead to give her tiara some much-needed bling, but overall, this was a less-than-exciting character to build.

But for example, I believe you can get more value here because you get more different colors and in never-before-released parts. Melding LEGO and Technic in the most ingenious ways, the build is especially challenging but rewarding, especially when you see the functions in action!

Here’s hoping these do really well and send a signal to LEGO that we do really want more LEGO Lord of the Rings. On top of all these features, LEGO designers gave him interesting facial hair that makes him have a stronger-than-usual jawline. I understand the design choice to go with a plain green dress, but I think there was a lost opportunity here to really commit, and have her entire dress printed, or at the very least, the upper half to really pay homage to the delicate Elven details on her dress. I’d also love to get an Ent, Uruk Hai, Saruman and Ringwraith Brickheadz too to round out the collection! Then you can also just look from the perspective of how much the piece/rare value you can get from this set. This is similar to Aragorn’s, being created by a mix of shiny elements and a great printed plate, which also forms part of her face. A little about the process: I use the piece count from Harry Potter BrickHeadz as an indicator of how many pieces I could use, to make it as realistic as an official release. Here’s a look at the back, and sides, where we have drum-lacquered silver elements to extend across her head to the back, even being positioned slightly lower on the back of her head.

The Frodo Brickheadz is masterfully designed, using colours to effectively convey and identify Frodo. Here’s a look at the Arwen Brickheadz, featuring a pale green dress that she wore during Aragorn’s coronation as King of Gondor.

Any further details on that model are few and far between at the moment, including whether it will be built in minifigure scale or microscale (or even a new and entirely different scale). Aragorn has a printed 2×4 tile on his chest, with his coronation armour bearing the symbol of the Reunited Kingdom of Gondor and Arnor, which is really nice.
